Not a Single Response

Michael Parsa, Natalie Pierre, Effie Triantafilopolus, The office of the mayor of Burlington, and the board of CAS have all failed to respond to my inquiries within 2 weeks. This is more than enough time to show support for what should be a no-brainer. I encourage everyone who reads this to draft their own letters calling these "public servants" out on their apparent apathy for the murder of children within their constituencies. Now I will begin building a case to submit to Ontario's ombudsman, and the regulatory bodies for the social workers and medical professionals who failed in their responsibilities. I will do it without any help from these so-called "leaders"

I hope everyone had a good and restful long weekend.

When we apply ourselves to something it is hard sometimes to see the forest through the trees. I like to use my time off to relax, reconnect with family, sleep-in. These are the moments in life that we cannot take for granted. Even with a mission as important as ours, it is important to take the time for ourselves. Returning to your purpose with a renewed feeling of zest and vigor can make all the difference when it comes to outcome. Isn't outcome what we are all really after?

Burlington Mayor Advocates for Children, just not the native ones

Here the mayor is heard advocating for Finlay's law. She states that this was a systemic failure that lead to an entirely preventable death. Sound familiar? She told me in writing that the death of LL was a provincial issue and was beyond her scope. Listen in this interview as she describes the steps she took to ensure that Finlay's law was brought through the provincial and federal legislature. Why does she believe that Finlay deserves justice, but ignores LL's similar fate. Is it because LL is indigenous and Finlay is a little Dutch boy? Is it because she has friends at CAS who were directly responsible? All I know for sure is that she is a hypocrite and a coward wrapped into a single package. She clearly has the ability and the platform to advocate for LL. Disgusting

This comprehensive report organizes the medical, child welfare, and witness data extracted from the legal proceedings regarding the life and death of LL.

  • Dr. Noura Labib (ER Physician, Joseph Brant Hospital)

    • Involvement: Treated LL on the night of his death. Attempted resuscitation; observed he was “skin and bones,” cachectic, hypothermic, and wet.

Thursday is the deadline.

This Thursday May 14th is the deadline for all parties in receipt of my letter to make a response before I follow up. So far only the mayor has returned my correspondence. Sadly it was with a refusal to help me reach out to the relevant parties to make a change. This is all too common a pattern at city hall when residents need help. Do not worry. Together we will make this an issue too large and too loud to ignore. Together we will bring justice. Listen for the sound of the drums.

From Burlington's Transport Manager Chris King

I asked Chris about two major things. One was a concern brought to me by a resident that was worried about traffic calming measures interfering with emergency response. Another was whether or not we can repurpose the cameras from our automated speed enforcement program.

Good Morning Rowen.

Apologies for the delayed response and it was great meeting you as well.

Impacts to emergency services are well understood within the traffic engineering field, and we work closely with Fire, EMS, and Police to, as best as possible, mitigate potential effects.

Traffic calming measures are generally not installed on priority emergency response routes, such as roads in close proximity to emergency service stations or those identified as key response corridors.  There are also limitations to where traffic calming can be applied based on the road type (i.e. we would not install speed cushions on an arterial road, or a road with a…

It is getting bigger every day

The push for an independent review is being talked about more and more. We will make it too big to ignore. We will succeed with our goal of full accountability for the people who failed these children.
